Radiesse is an injectable containing calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). In the United States it was approved on 2006-12-22 under PMA P050052 for subdermal implantation to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. A 2025 PRISMA systematic review in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery screened 1,237 records down to 29 studies and groups CaHA with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and polycaprolactone (PCL) as biostimulators — a family it defines by a role in collagen induction and treats as distinct from hyaluronic acid fillers.
