Juvelook vs skin booster injections at Abijou Hongdae: reading two menu names before you book

Juvelook and “skin booster” are not two rivals on one shelf. Juvelook is a named product (PDLLA plus hyaluronic acid); “skin booster” is an umbrella label that, according to a 2024 terminology paper, still has no established comprehensive definition. A hydration injection (水光注射) describes how something is placed in the skin, so what it contains depends on the product named on the quote. Abijou Hongdae lists Juvelook by the cc and hydration injections as Lilied items, with Cryocell packages. Which one suits you is decided at consultation.

Language support and contact channels

This branch lists KakaoTalk, WhatsApp for international enquiries. Channel availability and the language of the responding staff can vary, so confirm both when you contact the clinic.

Is this a product against a product, or a product against a method?

The second. When someone searches “Juvelook vs skin booster”, one side is a brand-named product and the other is a category. A 2024 paper on skin booster terminology states that a specific, comprehensive definition of the term has not yet been established, so the phrase alone does not tell you what goes into the skin.

Juvelook is described in its maker’s material as PDLLA combined with hyaluronic acid. A hydration injection, the 水光注射 many visitors ask for, names the delivery route. The substance behind it is whatever the clinic puts on the quote, which is why the useful question is “which product, how much, how deep” rather than “which category”.

What do the published studies actually cover?

They cover specific products and protocols, which is why their numbers cannot be lined up against each other.

  • Hydration-type injection: a randomised, evaluator-blinded trial of 448 people used non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, 4 mL per session at 1.0 to 1.2 mm depth, on days 0, 28 and 56. At day 84, moderate-or-greater improvement on the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale was recorded in 90.09% of the treated group and 9.57% of the untreated group; follow-up stopped there.
  • A systematic review of 15 studies reported hyaluronic acid used alone performing better than cocktail preparations, so a longer ingredient list is not evidence of a better product.
  • Juvelook: a 2025 case series of 15 people combined microneedling with PDLLA and reported changes in pores and skin texture; a needle-free microjet study used five sessions with assessment through 24 weeks.
  • Day 84 or week 24 is the window a study observed. It is not a promise of how long anything lasts for you.

Which problems show up late, and why does that matter on a trip?

Both treatments are injections, so discomfort and short-lived marks are expected. The literature also records problems that surface weeks later, after most visitors have left Seoul.

  • Juvelook: injection discomfort varies with area, technique and sensitivity; temporary redness, swelling or bruising is reported, and a published case report describes a nodular reaction after PDLLA injection.
  • After mesotherapy-type injections, a review of 423 people with non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection found symptoms starting a mean of 32.5 days after the injection.
  • In a series of 31 people treated for complications after hyaluronic acid injection, delayed nodules were recorded in 32.1% of cases. These are people who already had a problem; the figure is not how often problems occur.
  • Before you fly, keep the product name in writing and agree how to reach the clinic from abroad.

Which Juvelook and hydration lines does the Hongdae menu carry?

HISTORICAL EXAMPLE, not a current quote. This is the 12 October 2026 booking-centre snapshot for Abijou Hongdae, VAT excluded. Promotional and first-visit lines are labelled as such.

  • Juvelook is listed by volume: 1cc, 4cc and an Eye 2cc item. Juvelook Volume is a separate three-session package item, so confirm which name a quote refers to.
  • Hydration items are listed as Lilied 5cc, or as packages that include a Cryocell step at 2cc, 2.5cc and 5cc. This snapshot has no plain Lilied 2cc single line at Hongdae.
  • One October promotion pairs Lilied with a toxin step on Tuesday to Thursday only, so it does not apply to a Saturday visit.
  • A trial package combines Juvelook with a hydration injection in a single first-visit session.

Frequently asked questions

Is Juvelook the same thing as a skin booster?

Juvelook is a named product that is commonly grouped under the skin booster label. The label itself has no established comprehensive definition, so compare product names rather than categories.

Is a hydration injection the same as 水光注射?

Broadly yes: 水光注射 (Japanese) and 水光针 (Simplified Chinese) are the names many visitors use for it. It names a route into the skin, so the content still depends on the product on your quote.

Does the FDA approval of SKINVIVE cover Juvelook or other hydration injections?

No. That record, P110033/S059, covers one product and an indication of improving cheek-skin smoothness. It does not extend to Juvelook or to other preparations, and it is a U.S. record.

Which lines does Hongdae list in the 12 October 2026 snapshot?

Juvelook 1cc, 4cc and Eye 2cc; Lilied 5cc; Lilied packages with Cryocell at 2cc, 2.5cc and 5cc; a first-visit Juvelook and hydration package; and an October Tuesday-to-Thursday Lilied Hydro Toxin line. Amounts exclude VAT and are not a current quote.

Can I get Juvelook and a hydration injection in one visit?

The menu lists a first-visit trial package combining both in one session, KRW 141,900 in the snapshot (promotional, VAT excluded). Whether it suits you is decided at consultation.

What should I ask about the hydration product?

Ask what is in the syringe, who makes it, the volume and depth planned, and whether anything is mixed in. The trial cited here used non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid at 4 mL and 1.0 to 1.2 mm.

When can a problem appear after I go home?

After mesotherapy-type injections, documented mycobacterial infections began a mean of 32.5 days later. Keep the product name and clinic contact, and get in touch about a new lump, spreading redness, rising pain or drainage. For sudden vision change or skin turning pale or mottled, seek emergency care at once.

How do I book at Hongdae?

Pick a time on the booking centre or message the branch on KakaoTalk or WhatsApp. Hours are Monday to Friday 10:30 to 20:30 (lunch 14:00 to 15:00) and Saturday 10:00 to 16:30; closed Sunday and public holidays.

Abijou began in Gangnam in 2006 and the network now runs 17 branches across Korea. The line the group works to is skin transformation woven into everyday life. Hongdae sits at the station the airport train serves, so many of the people who come in are fitting a visit into a few days in Seoul — and most of the top bookings here are first-visit options.

  • One of 17 Abijou branches nationwide
  • On the AREX Airport Railroad — reachable from Incheon Airport without a transfer
  • We quote the official published price list as it stands
  • Across the 17 branches in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon and Busan: over 1,000 medical professionals and more than 350 certified medical devices
  • Authentic products only, in appropriate amounts — the treatment is fitted to the condition, not to a package
